I spent a lot of years trying to be who the room needed.

Now I’m figuring out what happens when I stop asking for permission to be myself.

THE SHORT VERSION

Worker. Provider. Husband. Dad. Beginner—again.

I worked for decades, retired from my job at 55, and became a dad again in my 50s. I’m still earning, still building, and still learning how to use the freedom I spent so long working toward.

Straight Up With Jason isn’t a persona. It’s a promise: I’ll tell you what I actually think, what I actually do, and when I don’t know the answer.

WHAT YOU’LL GET HERE

Real life

Family, responsibility, loneliness, freedom, purpose, and the weird shit nobody tells you about getting older.

The honest journey

What I’m trying, what I’m learning, and what it actually takes to build a meaningful next chapter.

Real work that matters

Helping schools, churches, nonprofits, animal rescues, teams, and community organizations raise money through an established program with no upfront cost to the organization.

There’s no polished ending yet.

That’s why the story is worth following.
